Event overview: 

Join us to showcase and encourage women & girls into manufacturing – this is through demonstrating role models, draw out and increase awareness on the options available and articulating experience and strengths with confidence.

 

You will hear from Mandy Ridyard of Produmax before embarking on a factory tour, with networking time to meet other women in manufacturing in the region. 

 

Why women in manufacturing is important

  • 26% of manufacturing workforce are female and 13% are from ethnic minority groups

  • A 2021 Make UK survey of Manufacturers in the UK found that only 67% of manufacturers have an ED&I strategy or are planning one, just 2% of the manufacturers have an average workforce age below 30 and Minority ethnic representation on boards is only 5%.

  • Women are 1.8x more likely to leave the industry (taken from Deloitte)

  • 71% believe standards of performance differ from men & women with 87% believing the standards is higher for women (taken from Deloitte)
